While I was hiking the Appalachian Trail, I was often struck by the beauty and grandeur of the mountains. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest and hiking in the Olympics and Cascades, I never dreamed that the Appalachians held so much beauty and such rugged terrain.

The history of the native peoples has always intrigued me, and in particular their closeness with nature.  Demons and spirits are known all along the trail, and are simply a part of the natural history that our great heritage has provided.

I was inspired on this trip to create two unique stories, which I have included as bonus chapters in Take a Hike! A long walk on the Appalachian Trail. If you purchased that book, there is no need to purchase this short story book, as the material is exactly the same. If however, you are only interested in these two trail myths, then Appalachian Trail Myths: The Ugalu and Pamola is the perfect book for you.

It is very short, and priced accordingly.  I hope you enjoy it.
