One of the resource items noted in the book is a copy of my hiking plan in excel format.

This plan contains the original miles I expected to hike each day, where my rest days were planned, where my mail drops were, etc.  It was updated after my hike with the actual miles and locations I reached each day - which were significantly different than the plan.

The resulting hike was a full five weeks longer than the plan, as I over-estimated the miles and under-estimated when I would need to take rest days.
